Who we are
- Velance Aviation Club is the provider of the Velance Aviation Club app and of Digital Squadron, the private member portal. Velance Aviation Club is a trade name of the sole proprietorship of Faber Valkering, based at Rondtanderlaan 6, 2171 LW Sassenheim, the Netherlands, registered in the Dutch Trade Register under KvK number 42100899.
- This page is open to everyone, without logging in.
Delete your account yourself
- As a member you can delete your account yourself in Digital Squadron, in the app or on the web: Digital Squadron → Profiel → Account → Account verwijderen (the app is in Dutch: Profile → Account → Delete account).
- You confirm the deletion by typing the word VERWIJDER (Dutch for “delete”) and tapping “Verwijder mijn account” (“Delete my account”). The deletion takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.
- Administrator accounts cannot be deleted by the account holder. In that case, please contact us at the email address below.
Request deletion by email
- Can’t log in any more, or would you rather we do it for you? Send a request for account deletion to contact@velanceclub.com. Please include the email address of your account.
- We respond without undue delay and, as a rule, within one month of receiving your request.
What is deleted
- When you delete your account, the following are deleted, among other things:
- your account and your profile;
- your WhatsApp number;
- your aircraft and Flying Plans;
- your regular community content and Connect data;
- your activity data and other ordinary operational member data;
- your associated avatars and aircraft photos.
- A fly-out registration without payment or outstanding claim is deleted entirely. For a registration with a financial record, party names, your mobile number, emergency contact, billing address and matching and logistics data are deleted.
- If your membership is definitively ended, ordinary profile and community data are, as a rule, deleted within 30 days at the latest.
What is kept (temporarily)
- Some data is not deleted immediately or not in full. This data does not keep an active profile or access to Digital Squadron in place:
- Financial and tax data of a fly-out registration (invoice details, agreements, payments and refunds): seven full calendar years, until 1 January of the eighth year after the year of the last financial event, insofar as legally required. Of a registration with a financial record, only your name and email address, the ticket types and quantities, the amounts, payments and refunds, and the confirmations given at registration are kept. If a payment or refund is still outstanding, the record is not deleted until it has been settled;
- Proof of acceptance of our terms (which version and when): up to five years;
- Moderation and content reports: up to two years after being handled, or from creation if a report is not handled;
- Chat messages: your messages remain in existing conversations, but the link to your account is removed and the sender is shown as “Voormalig lid” (“Former member”). If you would like us to review a specific message for deletion, please contact us at contact@velanceclub.com;
- Backups and technical platform logs may still temporarily contain personal data after deletion until the relevant service provider’s normal rotation or deletion periods have passed.
- Personal data that other members have stored themselves outside Velance, for example a screenshot or contact detail in their own address book, falls outside our technical control.
More information
- All retention periods and the processing of personal data are set out in our Privacy Statement, in particular §26 Retention periods and §28 Deleting your account. In case of any difference, the Privacy Statement prevails.
